Ogie Alcasid In Talks For Possible Transfer To ABS-CBN This Month

After appearing twice on ASAP this year and joining some Kapamilya award-winnig musicians in MMK 25th anniversary commemorative album called "MMK Life Songs," his possible transfer to Kapamilya station after his TV5 contract expires this month is on the bag, reports said.

When asked during the press conference for his upcoming birthday concert “Ayokong Tumanda” at Music Museum, Ogie said, “The truth is my contract [with TV5] is expiring August 18. Thankful ako sa network ko at hindi nila ako nire-restrict. Let’s face it, wala naman kaming show ngayon. Wala kaming ibang content kung saan ako pwede lumabas so naiintindihan naman nila ‘yon.”

He further said, “I still have to talk to my manager kung saan ba pupunta? Ang focus ko ngayon tapusin muna ang concert tapos saka na lang mag-isip one-by-one, kasi nagpatong-patong. Anything is possible.Pero ang feeling ko sa three years being with TV5 we weren’t able to accomplish what we were supposed to accomplish. So kung iiwan ko lang ‘yun na ganoon there’s big part of me na sige baka kaya pa naman. However, kung hindi na kaya, kung wala na, then it’s time to move on. I don’t want to base my position on anything else but where am I needed most at this point,”

Iza Calzado plays mom to Julia Barretto's character in The Second Wife
What made Iza Calzado accept the offer of playing mother to 19-year old Julia Barretto?
Iza Calzado plays mom to Julia Barretto's character in The Second Wife

Iza Calzado was reluctant at first when she was offered a role to become mother of teen actress Julia Barretto in ABS-CBN's upcoming primetime series The Second Wife.

Iza (33) admitted that she was surprised when she was offered the role parenting a 19-year old Julia.

“Wala pa nga akong anak," she said.

But what made her consider accepting the role was when fellow younger actresses Jodi Sta Maria and Angelica Panganiban played mothers to Daniel Padilla ang Kathryn Bernardo in Pangako Sa 'Yo. Then she did the calculation of such possibility.

"Honestly, if I got pregnant at 17 or something, I would have had her. She would have been my baby”, she said.

Calzado said to be considered for the role is already a huge honor since it has been her dream to work with actress Bea Alonzo.

“I’m very excited. This is a dream cast for me. This is also my first time to work with Star Creatives so talagang nung ibinalita sa akin, sabi ng manager ko noon, may ipi-pitch daw na project. Nung sinabi pa lang na si Bea 'yung kasama ko, sobrang na-excite na ako,” she said.

According to Calzado, “The Second Wife” is about an unconventional family and how they deal with their complicated lives. She'll play the first wife of Ian Veneracion’s character with Alonzo in the titular role.
