Confirmed! Jennylyn Mercado To Star In MY LOVE FROM THE STAR Pinoy Version

 
It was reported several months ago that Alden Richards will portray the Pinoy version of Matteo Do, an alien who landed on Earth and falls in love with a top actress (played by hottest Korean star Kim Soo Hyun) in the hit Korean series "My Love from the Star".

While Aldenatics are still waiting for GMA-7's official announcement, Direk Joyce Bernal confirmed today that Jennylyn Mercado will play the female lead role named Steffi Cheon (Jun Ji-hyun).

"Si Jennylyn po, siya yung Steffi," Bernal, who will direct the series, confirmed.

In the series, Steffi Cheon is a big-time actresss who becomes the neighbor of lead actor Matteo Do.

It turns out the young looking professor Matteo is actually an alien who has been living on Earth for thousands of years. Just as he is about to leave Earth, he becomes romantically involved with Steffi.

Set in the Joseon Dynasty and in modern-day Seoul, this romance drama was originally topbilled by Korean stars Kim Soo-hyun and Jun Ji-hyun.

Jennylyn Mercado Renews Contract With GMA-7

Is she moving to Kapamilya or will remain Kapuso? Maybe freelance? Well, the guessing game is over as Jennylyn Mercado renewed her contract with the Kapuso network on Monday, July 4.

I feel so blessed and wala naman akong plano mag-stay sa iba. This is my home. GMA is my home," Jennylyn said. 

She signed the contract in the presence of GMA Chairman and CEO Felipe L. Gozon, President and COO Gilberto Duavit, Jr., CFO Felipe S. Jennylyn Mercado Set To Officially Transfer To ABS-CBN?

After her commendable performance in Star Cinema certified box-office hit romantic-comedy flick "Just The 3 Of Us" opposite Kapamilya actor John Lloyd Cruz, homegrown Kapuso actress Jennylyn Mercado is rumored to be making the "big switch" especially now that her contract with GMA Network has already expired last May.

The speculations surfaced after some reports state that she is set to star in another project under the ABS-CBN film
Arm.

On the other hand, her manager Becky Aguila says that GMA-7 is still their priority. In fact, rumors have it that a possible team-up with Alden Richards for the remake of hit Korean fantasy rom-com series "My Love From Star" is now in the works.
