Another 6 big mining companies suspended by DENR Sec. Gina Lopez

The operation of six mining companies in Puerto Princesa and Zambales has been temporarily suspended, at least for a month, by the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR).

The suspension, according to DENR secretary Gina Lopaz, is so that they will be subjected under an auditing process to verify if they pass the existing technical, social, and environmental standards of the agency.

Once it has been proven that they have been continuing their operations despite not having met the standards and that they have been receiving bribes from local officials, they will be given due punishment.

However, Lopez has assured the residents who have been affected by the unlawful mining process that they will be given assistance.

Trainings on horticulture and animal husbandry are included in the livelihood assistance. These could be used once the place has been developed into an eco-tourism site.
“I want you to know that DENR is not only for regulation. What I want to do is not just to suspend but to stop the mining operations because many people are suffering from it,” explained Lopez.

Residents have been hoping that the current administration will be able to implement much better policies especially those that are relation to responsible mining so that the damages to the health of the residents and the environment shall be minimized, or get rid of. | ASCS - FNPH

Incoming BuCor Chief: Bigtime Bilibid Drug lords Offer P1M for a Cellphone. Unbelievable!
The bribery never stops at the New Bilibid Prisons as recently, Maj. Gen Alaxander Balutan reported that big time drug lords are promising to pay as much as P1 million to sneak a cellphone inside their cell.

Incoming Bureau of Corrections (BuCor) chief Balutan said that phones are a necessity for these drug lords to be able to continue running their drug operations.

Quoting from Balutan's statement, he said "Walang kuwenta ito kung ikukumpara mo sa mga tini-trade nilang drugs. O-order sila sa China ng mga two hundred kilos, that's worth more or less P200 million. What is one million?"

According to him, there is at least 1,000 personnel whom they identified as part of corruption inside the bilibid among the 3,000 members for its seven facilities. Surprisingly, the list included some were superintendents, the highest rank official in the facility.

"Sibakin natin. Dapat sibakin kahit sino pa siya," Balutan said. "I have the backing of the President. Sinong matakot?" said Balutan.

Cellphones and even signal boosters were earlier nabbed from the Bilibid together with some high-end 'kubols' during the oplan-galugad of PNP-Special Action Force.

PNP-SAF are now assigned to assume the posts of the NBP guards to discourage and cut these corruption inside the Bilibid.

"They have to be isolated, ma-cut communication nila from their contact, their network," Balutan said.

Garcia of Smartmatic admits existence of "queue" server; Marcos camp feels vindicated

The Marcos camp scored an initial victory when Garcia admitted the existence of queue servers while facing the prosecutors for questioning recently. Previously, the Marcos camp alleged the existence of the existence of a "fourth server" or the "queue server" which had been kept secret from the public by the Comelec and Smartmatic. It can be recalled that Marlon Garcia of Smartmatic gained notoriety at the height of the canvassing of votes when his name surfaced because of the "changing of the script" controversy.

Marlon Garcia, the project manager and a number of Smartmatic officials are charged for violation of Section 4(a) of the Cybercrime Prevention Act of 2012 or Republic Act No. 10175. Other notable names are Elie Moreno (General Manager and Project Director), Neil Banigued and Mauricio Herrera (Technical Support Team members) and COMELEC IT experts led by Rouie Peñalba, Nelson Herrera and Frances Mae Gonzalez, who are all assigned at the Information Technology Department. The Marcos camp released a statement welcoming the unexpected development.

These victories will continue only for as long as we, the great mass called the public, remain vigilant, engaged and ready to fight for the truth. This syndicate cannot win against the people. They know this. But we also must believe that we can win this, you and me, together.
This breaking news has been receiving positive feedback from the Marcos supporters.
As of this writing, the post has been shared more than 1,000 times and 1,300 likes from netizens.

Mindanao drug syndicates exporting drugs to Malaysia?

ZAMBOANGA - Police authorities in Western Mindanao said drug syndicates operating in this region have started exporting illegal drugs to nearby countries such as Malaysia.
Chief Superintendent Billy Beltran, PNP regional director in Western Mindanao, said they have been receiving information that these big-time drug syndicates are using backdoor channels to sneak in illegal drugs to Malaysia and other nearby countries.

Beltran, however, denied speculations there is a shabu laboratory operating in the region. He said the supply of illegal drugs in Region 9 usually comes from others parts of Mindanao and areas in Luzon, transported by land and sea. According to Beltran, they are also in the process of validating reports that some politicians and big-time businessmen in Western Mindanao are involved in the illegal drug trade. Since July, more than 20,000 drug users and pushers have turned themselves to authorities in Zamboanga Sibugay, Zamboanga del Norte, Zamboanga del Sur and Zamboanga City. Hundreds of them were self-confessed drug pushers who decided to surrender for fear of being targeted in the police's anti-illegal drugs operations. The number of detainees in Zamboanga City's reformatory center who have drug-related cases also continues to increase amid the intensified campaign of the government against illegal drugs. Zamboanga City jail warden Superintendent Julius Arro said out of more than 2,000 prisoners inside the facility, around 70% of them are involved in drug-related cases. Arro said government should take a holistic approach to win the battle against illegal drugs, noting that a rehabilitation facility is vital to help drug dependents be more productive and self-reliant.

List: Celebrities That Make The Most Money On Social Media

Have you ever wondered how much money your favorite celebrities' social media posts are worth? Who do you think is the greatest social media influencer of them all?

Well, according to highly scientific research by D'Marie Analytics, below are the top six social media influencers (the list includes both brands and celebrities) in order, and it might surprise you:

1. Selena Gomez
2. Kendall Jenner
3. Kylie Jenner
4. Rihanna
5. Beyoncé Knowles
6. Taylor Swift

Back in December, D'Marie reported supermodels such as Kendall Jenner and Gigi Hadid could earn between $125,000 to $300,000 per social media post. But that amount looks like chump change compared to the $550,000 the company now says Selena could be making to post across Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter to her 180.6 million followers.

In an article with Adweek, CEO of D'Marie Group Frank Spadafora explained how they arrived at such a high figure:

"The rate-per-post is her "ad equivalent" value per post across Facebook, Twitter and Instagram. This may be different than how much she is actually getting paid when participating in social media campaigns. That is up to negotiations between her agents and the brands. This valuation is based on D'Marie's algorithm which measures 56 metrics including followers, post frequency, engagement, quality of post, click-thru and potential to create sales conversions from her social content."

Spadafora also noted that compared to other celebs, Selena rarely does campaigns, which might be the reason for why she's so influential.
