Netizen Criticizes Brillante Mendoza's Direction Of SONA2016

The first ever State of the Nation Address (SONA) of President Rodrigo Duterte on Monday, July 25, trended on social media not just because it's a highly anticipated event for the newly-elected president, but because of the unconventional camera angle and cinematic shots put to it by acclaimed film director Brillante Mendoza while the president was delivering his speech.

According to Brillante, he aimed to make the President looked powerful while building personal connection to his audience, thus, reflecting the "real Duterte".

How come netizens disapproved of his camera shots saying it was unnecessary and weird for such event?
