15 years and 5 months. Exactly the period when I decided to move from University Belt to Manila's Central Business District, if my memory serves me right. Despite putting museum and heritage places as the top itineraries every time I went out of the country, Ayala Museum, which is just a walking distance away from where I am staying, never attracts my curiosity.
With the many great museums that I've visited for the past years, most of them houses amazing artifacts, artworks from world renowned artists, I thought I might end up being biased if I am to compare the Makati-based museum against those that I've visited abroad. Museum is where we discover and learn many interesting facts about the past and historical issues, but I'm thinking, "what is left there to discover about the Philippines?"
So when Avida Land asked me to come and visit the place, I didn't hesitate to give a nod. Aside from the very limited information about whose masterpieces are in exhibit, the famous celebrities who opted to have their creations launch in it, the very elite name behind the place, I can't say much about the place.

Avida Land, in collaboration with the Ayala Museum and CNN Philippines Life, on July 30, offered a full-day event called "Inspire Every Day" that celebrates art, literature, history and everything in between, aiming to inspire visitors to pursue their passions in their daily lives.
I arrived 10 minutes past the hour of 10 in the morning. So technically, I am 10 minutes late.
I was so amazed with the long queue of visitors (which I learned later on that the long line started 4 hours early) who wished to take this exciting opportunity of enriching their passion about the country's arts and culture.
While entering the venue, someone (who looked like he was part of the organizing team) approached me with a question: "Who inspires you?" leaving me dumbfounded. I just smiled and walked away.
The event puts the visitors engage in a whole day of interesting activities and fun-filled pocket events in line with the theme, "Inspiration Got Us Started, Passion Keeps Us Going." With free access to enter Ayala Museum and the Filipinas Heritage Library, visitors are also treated to a selection of changing exhibitions, such as:
Object Travelogue/Dialogue, which showcases pieces from the Ayala Museum collection that have been featured in exhibitions abroad;
Sanso: Setting the Stage, an exhibition of reproductions of Sanso's work by artists Toym Imao and James Reyes that showcase his stage and costume design work; and
The Diary of Tetsuya Noda: Steven Co Collection, which presents an intimate glimpse into the life of the Japanese contemporary printmaker
Visitors to this exciting event also get a special look at an exhibit from Julia Nebrija called Old Manila Lego Architecture.
The day is action-packed, with talks on How to Make it in Manila from Manila's most in-demand fashion photographer BJ Pascual, and Historical Filmsfrom multi-award winning film director, composer, editor, sound designer and writer Jerrold Tarog - a can't-miss-chance for visitors to get up-close and personal with insights, tips and inspiration from these iconic personalities.
Activity Stations can also be found throughout the venue, with a patch station from ARTWORK, a portrait studio by BJ Pascual, and historical diorama coloring by the Ayala Museum that are guaranteed to unleash your creativity.
Incredible and exciting performances are also scheduled throughout the day, with Rock Ballet by Ballet Philippines, a yoga class for your little ones from Fire Tree Press, a Historical Rap Battle, as well as pop-up performances from Manila Symphony Orchestra's Junior Orchestra and artists from the Tago Jazz Cafe.
Another highlight of the event is Avida Land's Homepossible installation, located at the Museum Café and brought to life by painter and calligrapher Anina Rubio's live art. Through Avida's Homepossible event, visitors are given an opportunity to become homebuyers, find a space where they can express themselves and experience an inspired life firsthand. Avida also launches "Pursuit of Passion," a lifestyle blog and resource guide that motivates and encourages everyone to breathe life into their passions for art, design, wellness and finance.
You have no idea how much happiness, excitement I am in during the event knowing that I was able to know my roots, the beautiful and rich culture of this land, my country called Philippines through art.
I was also able to summarized my experience with the the most accurate response to the question: "What inspires you?"
Avida believes that a place to dream and thrive is vital to being able to create opportunities and pursue passions. For more information, visit pursuitofpassion.ph and www.avidaland.com.
