James Reid And Nadine Lustre Teen Vogue Feature Story

US-based fashion magazine "Teen Vogue" has tagged James Reid and Nadine Lustre, popularly known as the phenomenal loveteam JaDine, as the “Filipino love team you need to know.”

In an article published Monday, Teen Vogue talked about the concept of “love team” in the Philippines and how this has changed the couple.

Teen Vogue wrote: “It's a heavy commitment that the stars take on, but similar to arranged marriages, the actors have a high chance of staying together on and off-camera.”

The secret is their willingness to work together - hence the term ‘team’ - to meet the extremely high expectations of hopeless romanticism,” the article added.

In an interview, James and and Nadine narrated to Teen Vogue how their onscreen partnership paved the way for their off-cam romance.

The first time we got paired together was for his music video,” Nadine said, with James adding that the actress “was the girl I picked, it was just instinct.

After working on the music video, James said it took some time before their love team was finally born.

After that music video, nothing really happened…[until] our first movie," he said referring to “Diary ng Panget.” "That’s when the JaDine love team started, the fans made the name."

At that time, James and Nadine said they didn’t really have any feelings for each other because they consider what they do on screen just part of their job.

"We never pretended to be together or lied to the fans. We were just friends, but they didn’t think so,” James said.

Fast forward to 2016, James confessed to thousands of Filipinos at their concert his real feelings for Lustre. They were already together then but it was the first time they made their relationship public.

Although having a romantic relationship while working together has its advantages, James and Nadine have also suffered from some backlash for being open about their love life.

Some people consistently accuse them of using their relationship just to promote their careers. Nonetheless, James said publicly admitting their relationship “was a good decision and a weight off our shoulders."

Having starred in a number of romantic projects together as a tandem, James and Nadine said "the lesson we’re teaching the fans in our movies is that true love can withstand any obstacle.” - ABS-CBNNews.com
