Controversial entertainment columnist and TV/radio host Cristy Fermin is under fire by ALDUB Nation, the solid supporters of Alden Richards and Maine Mendoza, in relation to her write-up about the phenomenal loveteam which was published Tuesday, July 26, on her Pilipino Star Ngayon column.
It will be recalled that Alden made a surprise visit to Cristy during her birthday party last July 23 at Fridays in Tomas Morato.
Three days after, Cristy wrote that some individuals seem to have taken issue out of Alden's action, questioning Maine's decision not come with him during her birthday party.
Three days after, Cristy wrote that some individuals seem to have taken issue out of Alden's action, questioning Maine's decision not come with him during her birthday party.
Cristy also noted that some unspecified individuals have said that Alden should not have gone to her birthday party because of her occasional criticisms of Maine. "These people seem to have forgotten that my columns have been supportive of Maine for the past year,"
Cristy then vigorously defended Alden's sweet gesture saying that it only goes to show that the actor remains humble and thoughtful despite his meteoric popularity.
She further by stressing that although they are on-screen partners, Alden and Maine remain to be separate individuals.
Unsurprisingly, ALDUB fans are not at all happy with Cristy's article. As of Tuesday night, the hashtag #BoyCottCristyFermin is a top trending topic on the social networking site Twitter. Meanwhile, someone started a petition on Change.org asking for the Movie and Television Review and Classification Board to suspend the veteran showbiz writer from appearing on TV. It has so far gathered almost 3,000 signatures.
