To make up for his canceled performance at the “DU31: One Love, One Nation Thanksgiving Party” of President Rodrigo Duterte last June 4 in Davao City’s Crocodile Park, comedian-TV host Vice Ganda is planning to hold a free concert in Davao City.
“They’re planning for a big concert in Davao. Free siya para doon sa mga gusto sanang mapanuod ako pero hindi natuloy,” he told ABS-CBN News’ Gretchen Fullido in an interview Friday night.
The comedian had to scrap his performance for the “DU31: One Love, One Nation Thanksgiving Party” held at Davao City’s Crocodile Park last June 5 due to heavy rains and a power outage.
He expressed disappointment over the cancellation, writing on his Twitter: “Hindi man nakapag-perform dahil sumabog ang kuryente okay lang. Sapat na sa akin ang nagkita-kita tayo, nagkawayan at nagkamayan.”
He also tweeted a photo of himself waving at the crowd and captioned his post: “I love you Davao! #Du31”.
Vice Ganda did not give a proposed date for the concert.
Asked about his thoughts on the inauguration speech of President Duterte, he said: “All of us should be hopeful for all the wonderful changes na mangyayari sa Pilipinas.”
In his speech, the country’s leader, among other things, reminded Filipinos that “change, if it is to be permanent and significant, must start with us and in us.”
